Lothar Hotz has been a keyboarder in Hamburg clubs since 1983.
So far he has played with the musicians Carsten Glinski (Sax), Barbara Hansen (Cello), Kathrin Hinneburg-Heiwolt (Vocals) and Martin Stieber (Drums), as well as in the formations Graffiti (Funk), Joe Huber (Jazz), Jacid (Funk, Fusion), Jazzaffair (Jazz-Latin), Five'N'Dime (Rock) and Super-Fly (Soul).
As a studio musician he worked for the Dolphin Studio and Records of Interest as well as Che!Record. He was also involved in several radio and television broadcasts in Hamburg. As a composer he focuses on jazz and funk pieces with piano and band arrangements.
His preference is the creation of a special musical atmosphere in the live setting, which he makes experienceable through surprising harmonics, rare sounds, angular, partly wooden and intuitive playing.
